
Mark Edward Hinson
Hinson is charged in Alexander County with two counts of felony probation violation out of county. In Caldwell County, he’s charged with two felony counts of habitual larceny. Hinson is charged in Iredell County with felony counts of larceny of a motor vehicle, larceny of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
The suspect is on probation as a result of convictions in Catawba and Lincoln Counties in 2022. In January Hinson was convicted in Lincoln County of felony larceny of a motor vehicle and in February he was convicted in Catawba County of an unspecified felony offense. He received probation and a 30 month suspended sentence.
Hinson was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Friday by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. He was taken into custody at an address on Highway 70 East in Hildebran. Following the arrest, Hinson was incarcerated in the Burke County Jail under $145,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (January 17). Multiple upcoming court dates are scheduled in all of the counties mentioned, a District Court date was scheduled today in Catawba County.
