A Conover man is detained after being arrested Friday by Catawba County Sheriff’s Deputies. Marcus Deshawn Mayfield, age 28, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a felon. Mayfield is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center with a secured bond of $150,000.
