The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office assisted the North Carolina Highway Patrol in capturing two suspects who were involved in a car chase on Interstate 77 North. The chase ended near Olin Loop Road. The suspects ran on foot.
Canine Units and Drones were deployed to the area to assist.
Both suspects were located and taken into custody without incident.
They have not yet been identified.

Update: 4:20 pm The Highway Patrol says the driver of the vehicle will be charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, felony elude, reckless driving and various other traffic violations.
The chase started at mile marker 35 and continued north to mile marker 62. The sheriff’s office deployed stop sticks and deflated the tires on the vehicle. The suspects fled from the vehicle.
