Vehicle Chase And Three Hour Standoff Ends in Wilkes County

After a three-hour standoff, North Wilkesboro Police arrested a man who led them on a high- speed chase and then held a gun to his head after crashing his vehicle Sunday afternoon.

The saga ended when the suspect finally put down his gun and surrendered to police.

43-year old Daniel Steven Foster of North Wilkesboro, is in the Wilkes County Jail charged with resisting a public officer, possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, fleeing to elude arrest, and failure to heed lights and sirens.

Foster is being held under a $21,000 secured bond.

The incident ended around 6 pm on Sunday
