36-year old Michael Allen Bumgarner of Catawba was arrested Sunday by Deputies with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with felony first-degree kidnapping, felony assault by strangulation, and misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon. Bumgarner is being held in jail without bond and has a court appearance scheduled for today in Newton.
