The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Hickory man on Thursday and charged him with a series of offenses. 41-year old Shan Laprie Hopper was cited for felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, assault inflicting serious injury, injury to personal property, resisting a public officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hopper is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center with a secured bond of $10,000. A district court appearance is scheduled for today in Newton.
