A Hickory man was arrested Tuesday for violation of his sex-offender status. 29-year old Carl Dean Shook was cited for being a registered sex-offender on premises and misdemeanor larceny by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. He is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center with a $25,500 secured bond. Shook is scheduled to make a court appearance today in Newton.
