Investigators located and seized 96 grams of methamphetamine, 2.99 grams of crack cocaine, 8 dosage units of Ecstasy, 5 grams of MDMA and three (one ounce) vials of GHB.
The vehicles driver, Jason Glenn Armstrong, age 40 of Morganton, was arrested and has been charged with two counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine (Transportation/Possession), Maintaining a Vehicle for the Purposes of Manufacturing , Selling or Delivering a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance(Ecstasy), Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver MDMA, Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Schedule I Controlled Substance (GHB) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Armstrong was also charged with Resisting a Public Officer.
Armstrong is still in the custody of the Catawba County Detention Center under a secure bond of $100,000. He is scheduled to make a court appearance today in Newton.
