Alexander Central defeated China Grove Carson Friday evening in the home opener for the Lady Cougars.
Faith Carrigan went all 7 innings for ACHS scattering 6 hits. Carrigan also went 2-3 at the plate with three runs-batted-in. One of the hits was a homerun.
Alexander Central is 2-0 and will travel to Hudson on Saturday and play North Buncombe at 2 pm
