Butler Romps Past Alexander Central

Mathews: The Butler Bulldogs routed Alexander Central Friday night ending the Cougars season.

The Bulldogs scored on their first three possessions shutting down the Alexander Central offense without a first down until the final play of the first quarter.

The Cougars held Butler without a score three straight possessions in the 2nd quarter but the Bulldog defense produced points on a 24-yards interception-return for touchdown by Tyquan Rankin.

Butler added another score to end the half up by a score of 35-0

Rankin would pick-off another pass and returned it 42 yards to another touchdown.

The Cougars scored their lone touchdown on the game’s final play when QB Tanner Moore hit Jamison Rowe with a 22-yard touchdown.

Butler out gained the Cougars 248-142.

Butler improves to 10-1 and advances to Round II of the 4A Playoffs.

ACHS finishes the year at 5-6.
