A Catawba County couple was arrested Thursday by Taylorsville Police. They’re charged with a long list of storage unit break-ins in Taylorsville. The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges against the couple as well.
42-year old David Lee Brittian and 47-year old Melissa Holstein Warren, both of Hickory, were taken into custody at a location on Springs Road in Catawba County.
The couple is suspected of breaking into at least 38 storage units at 3 different locations over the course of several days. The suspects were able to cut and or break locks to gain entry. They were shown on security video taken at the locations. They can been seen placing tape and spray painting cameras in an effort to conceal their identity.
Household goods, an air compressor, tools, tool boxes, and an all-terrain vehicle were among the long list of items stolen.
David Lee Brittian faces some 38 counts of felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering. He is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $500,000. Melissa Holstein Warren is charged with 8 counts of breaking and entering.
