***Breaking News*** Taylorsville Woman Pleads Guilty To Hickory Murder…Updated

A Taylorsville woman accused of killing her coworker at a Hickory furniture plant and then leading authorities on six-month manhunt has pleaded guilty.

Tangela Louise Parker, age 52, pleaded guilty this morning to the January, 2021 shooting death of 51-year old Michelle Marlow. The shooting took place at the Hickory furniture company where both were employed.

Hickory Police say Parker shot Marlow on January, 13, 2021 at TCS Designs. She then fled the area with her husband Eric Parker who also worked at the plant.

The Parkers spent months on the run before Federal Marshals arrested them at a home in Phoenix, Arizona. Authorities said the couple had changed their appearance and were living under fake names.

Tangela Parker was sentenced to 24 to 30 years in prison for second-degree murder.

Eric Parker , charged with accessory after the fact of murder, remains in the Catawba County Detention Center. His next court date is listed for December 4th in Catawba County Superior Court.
