***Breaking News*** Taylorsville Man Charged With Attempted Murder

A Taylorsville man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.

43-year old Michael Franklin Rockette of Rink Dam Road was taken into custody Saturday morning by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with attempted first-degree murder, discharging a gun into occupied property and assault by pointing a gun. Rockette is being held without bond in the Catawba County Detention Center.

No other details have been released.

Rockette is scheduled to make an initial court appearance on Monday in Newton.
