Three Charged After Bicycle Riders Struck In Alexander County

The NC Highway Patrol has charged three suspects in connection with a hit-and-run crash that resulted in a victim being airlifted due their injuries.

Around midnight on Friday, March 13th, Alexander County 911 was alerted to an accident involving two subjects riding bicycles on Rocky Face Church Road. One subject sustained significant injuries and was airlifted to a regional medical facility. The other victim suffered minor injuries.

The Highway Patrol says the driver of the vehicle along with two passengers fled the scene. The investigation led to three-arrests on Sunday.

Elizabeth Shaye Cline

The driver of the vehicle is identified as 23-year-old Elizabeth Shaye Cline of Deer Run DR in Hiddenite. She has been charged with

Felony hit-and-run resulting in serious injury or death
Failure to report an accident
Reckless driving with wanton disregard
Driving while impaired
Driving left of center
Failure to wear seat-belt
Expired registration/tag
No liability insurance
No inspection
Unsafe tires

Cline remains in the Alexander County Detention Center with total secured bond listed at $232,000. She is scheduled to make a Taylorsville court appearance today.

Desahray Kaprice McCullough

Desahray Kaprice McCullough, 19, Petrea LN, Taylorsville is charged with

Felony flee accident scene resulting in serious injury or death
Failure to give info/aid

McCullough is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center without bond due to a pending previous charge of resisting arrest and assault on a government official or employee

Caleb Issac Frye

Caleb Issac Frye, 24, Taylor Ridge RD, Taylorsville is charged with

Felony flee accident scene resulting in serious injury or death
Failure to give info/aid
Failure to wear seat-belt in back-seat

Frye is no longer listed in custody.
