Doug Gillispie ,Alexander County Director of Public Services, has confirmed that a search in underway for “some people” who have not been accounted for at the Hiddenite Family Campground.
The Campground is located at 601 Princess Lane in Hiddenite. A number of people have been safely evacuated

Update…11am…County Director of Public Services Doug Gillispie confirms that 5 (five) people are still unaccounted for and considered missing at the Hiddenite Family Campground. The search continues after more than 30 people have already been evacuated from the campground this morning.
