***Breaking News*** Hiddenite Man Charged In Thursday Morning Shooting

Thursday, at approximately 10:00 am, Alexander County 911 Communications Center received a call, in reference to a possible shooting in the area of Highway 90 East and Cheatham Ford Road. The caller stated a male subject in an older model Chevrolet truck, shot another subject in the shoulder.

Officers arrived and no one was on the scene. Deputies began searching the area for an old Chevrolet truck and a dark blue Ford Explorer .

A shot time later, Officers located the victim at the BP convenience store in Iredell County. The victim had a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The victim was transported by Iredell EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim and witness stated this all occurred from a road rage incident on Cheatham Ford Road.

Additional witnesses gave detectives a partial tag number and vehicle description. Officers went to a location on Vashti Road and contacted 67-year old David Bryant Marlowe. Evidence collected led to to his arrest.

David Bryant Marlowe of Hiddenite was taken into custody and charged with one count of felony assault with a deadly weapon-inflicting serious injury. Marlowe was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $50,000.

An initial court appearance is scheduled for Alexander Count District Court on Monday, July 3rd.
