A badly decomposed body was found this morning off County Home Road south of Taylorsville. The body was located in a wooded area near the intersection with Millersville Road. The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
Sheriff Chris Bowman says the body might be a person who was listed as missing in August but he declined to reveal the possible identification. An autopsy is scheduled.
The body was found following a traffic accident on Tuesday morning. A vehicle left County Home Road and struck a tree. The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries. A relative at the crash scene found a wallet and then the body in a wooded area not far from the roadway.
