At their meeting Tuesday evening, the Alexander County Board of Education voted to allow elementary students to return to in-person instruction in phases. The return will begin with PreK – 2nd-grade students returning Oct. 26 to a four-day per week in-person schedule. Wednesdays will continue to be a remote day for students and allow for cleaning in the schools.
The second phase will include third – 5th grades and will be determined by the board at the next school board meeting. The anticipated date to bring third – 5th-grade students back to school is Nov. 16.
