Baby Cougar Football Clinches Conference Crown With 46th Straight Win

Alexander Central’s junior varsity football team ran their winning streak to 46 games with a dominating victory over Hickory on Wednesday afternoon. The Baby Cougars out gained the host Red Tornadoes 261-93 and allowed only 4 first downs.

Logan Shoemaker rushed 19 times for 140 yards and a touchdown, Luke Hammer scored three touchdowns on the ground and threw for another to lead ACHS. The touchdown pass was to Andrew Fox from 8 yards. Hickory managed their lone touchdown in the fourth quarter after trailing 34-0.

Riley Fortner led the Alexander Central defense with 4 tackles. Tanner Moore and Kellun Triplett intercepted passes for the Cougars.

The win pushes the record to 4-0 and assures them of another conference championship with only the season finale remaining next Thursday evening at South Caldwell.
