Alexander County Sheriff’s Office Arrest Two For Fentanyl Trafficking

Following an investigation by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, two High Point residents are facing felony drug trafficking charges. A total of 29.9 grams of Fentanyl was seized during the arrest.

On Monday, March 31st the following charges were filed.

51-year-old Steven Wayne Owens of High Point is charged with felony trafficking fentanyl, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Owens has a long history of criminal convictions that include felony possession of schedule II controlled substance in both Guilford and Randolph Counties, felony obtaining property by false pretense in Guilford County along with multiple other charges.

33-year-old Kayla Renee Parker of High Point is charged with felony trafficking fentanyl, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both suspects are being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $250,000 each. A Monday, April 7th court date is scheduled in Taylorsville.
