Alexander County Records COVID-19 Death Over Weekend, More Than 100 New Cases

Alexander County’s Health Department has reported another COVID-19 associated death. A citizen died over the weekend bringing the total to 98 since the beginning of the pandemic.

109 new cases were reported from noon on Friday through noon Monday.

5,148 cases since the beginning of the pandemic

388 cases in last 14 days

217 cases in last 7 days

10 people are hospitalized, up 1 since noon Friday

39 percent of the county citizens have received 1 dose of the COVID-19 vaccine

36 percent of the county citizens are fully vaccinated

The Alexander County Health Department is scheduling appointments for the Pfizer vaccine for persons age 12 and older and the Moderna vaccine for persons age 18 and older. To register for a vaccine appointment at our office,visit https://alexandercountync.gov/covid/ or call 828-632-9704
