Alexander County Parks And Recreation Creates New Website

September 26, 2022 By Richard C. Gilbert

Gary L Herman

The Alexander County Parks & Recreation Department has launched a new website that allows residents to register online for recreation sports, view sports schedules and team information, discover information about county park facilities, and more.

The website, which is being implemented in phases, is available at https://alexander.recdesk.com or on the Parks & Recreation webpage on the county’s website.

“We’ve been exploring options to enhance parks and recreation opportunities, and we believe the new RecDesk website will greatly benefit our local families,” said Jon Presnell, Alexander County Parks & Recreation Director. “We’re rolling out this website in phases, so we ask for the public’s patience as we move forward.”

The first phase will allow parents to register their children for recreation basketball. Online registration will be available beginning Saturday, October 1. At this time, payments must be made via mail or at the Parks & Recreation office, which is located in the Alexander County Services Center (151 West Main Avenue, Taylorsville). In-person registration at the Parks & Recreation office will begin on Tuesday, October 4.

To utilize the new website, citizens must create an account, which is a quick and easy process. A tutorial video will be available on the Alexander County Parks & Recreation Department’s webpage at https://alexandercountync.gov/departments/parks-and-recreation/ or on their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/AlexanderCoRecreation.

After creating an account, users will be able to view available sports offerings, register for winter youth basketball, view team schedules, and keep up-to-date on teams’ win/loss statistics.

In the coming months, online payments will be accepted. In addition, citizens will be able to reserve Alexander County park buildings/shelters, including campsites and other facilities at Rocky Face Mountain Recreational Area.

For more information or assistance with the new website, call (828) 632-1104 or visit the Alexander County Parks & Recreation Department.
