Another 43 COVID-19 cases were reported on Monday by the Alexander County Department of Health.
129 cases in two reports (Friday, Monday)
At this time the Alexander County Health Department is scheduling appointments for the Pfizer vaccine for persons age 12 and older and the Moderna vaccine for persons age 18 and older. To register for a vaccine appointment at our office, visit https://alexandercountync.gov/covid/ or call 828-632-9704. If you are seeking a different vaccine or you need an appointment on a different day/time than our vaccine clinics, the NCDHHS Find A Vaccine link at https://covid19.ncdhhs.gov/vaccines can help you to locate a suitable vaccine appointment nearest you. Click on NCDHHS in the upper left corner to open the link.
We are also providing third-doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines to fully vaccinated persons who are moderately to severely immunocompromised according to CDC guidelines. For those who are interested in a booster and are not immunocompromised, we are waiting for the CDC to vote on the FDA’s recommendations for Pfizer-only recipients 65 & older, healthcare workers/at high risk of occupational exposure, &/or have high risk for severe Covid to receive a booster at least 6 months after their second Pfizer dose. We have not been given authorization to administer those booster vaccines at this time. We expect to learn more this week.
