Alexander County COVID-19 Count Hits 219 In 14 Day Period !

43 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Wednesday in Alexander County !

The county has counted 132 cases since Friday

219 cases in last 14 days

As of noon on Wednesday, 7 Alexander County Citizens were hospitalized with COVID associated symptoms

88 deaths since beginning of pandemic

38 percent of county residents have had one dose of vaccine

35 percent of county residents are fully vaccinated (state average is 47 percent)

The Delta variant, which is more contagious than other strains, makes up most of North Carolina’s COVID-19 cases. According to the CDC, Alexander County is in the “red” category along with 89 other counties, indicating a high level of community transmission. CDC guidance recommends that everyone wear a mask in all indoor public spaces.
