Long is charged with two felony counts apiece of trafficking heroin and possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule II controlled substance, single felony counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule IV controlled substance and possession of schedule II controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Griffin is charged with two felony counts apiece of trafficking heroin and possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, single felony counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession with intent to sell or deliver schedule II and schedule IV controlled substance. She’s also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and reckless driving to endanger.
On Tuesday, April 11, an Iredell County Sheriff’s Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Taylorsville Highway for a traffic violation. Before coming to a stop the officer reportedly saw the passenger throw something from the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Long and Griffin.
During the traffic stop deputies reportedly found drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. They also retrieved and 1.24 grams of crystal meth along with one gram of heroin that were reportedly in Griffin’s possession. Deputies were also able to find the item thrown from the vehicle, which was a box containing 4.8 grams of heroin, 9.44 grams of crystal meth, 1.04 grams of fentanyl, 18 dosage units of oxycodone, and eight dosage units of clonazepam.
Both suspects were placed the Iredell County Detention Center. Long was jailed under $150,000 secured bond, Griffin received a $100,000 secured bond. Both suspects are scheduled to appear in District Court May 3.
