On Tuesday, the Alexander Central Women’s Basketball team was scheduled to travel to Hickory. Less than four hours before tip-off, Hickory decided not to play the game because Alexander Central’s Men’s team had a close contact regarding COVID-19 in a game against South Caldwell. The Cougar Women were not deemed in close contact, nor have they been since.
On Thursday, the North Carolina High School Athletic Association determined the game should be played. The contest has been scheduled for Saturday at 11am with Hickory being the host team.
On Friday, the Lady Cougars will host South Caldwell with JV girls at 4:30 followed by the varsity women.
