Alexander Central Women Open Conference Tournament Play Tonight !

2022 Dick’s Sporting Goods Tournament Champions

The postseason is here !

Alexander Central’s Lady Cougar Basketball team will open play in the Northwestern Conference Tournament this evening at home. ACHS will host Freedom.

The two teams played twice during the regular season, both games won by Alexander Central including last Friday in Morganton by a 51-47 score.

Coach Jon Presnell’s team is 18-6 but will still be without starter Kirstyn Herman who is nursing an injured shoulder. She’s missed the last four games.

Freshman Meredeith Wike is coming off a 27 point, 11 rebound performance against the Lady Patriots last Friday. Senior Sydney Hayes averages 10 points per outing for ACHS.

The game will begin at 6pm.

The winner will advance to the Tournament semi-final on Thursday against the #1 seed Hibriten.
