The Host Huskies held off a rally by Alexander Central and won 43-39. AC trailed by 11 with 1:35 left in the third quarter. The Lady Cougars would trim the lead to three on a couple different occasions late in the final period but could get no closer.
Page Overcash and Lexie Dawson combined for 22 points to lead Ashe County. Alexander Central got a spark off the bench from Karlee Starnes who led the scoring with 14. Ashe dominated the boards 42-29
Ashe County improves to 13-5 and 4-2 in Northwestern Conference play. AC falls to 17-3 and 3-3.

The host Huskies led 16-15 after the first quarter but the Cougars were up 30-23 at the half. The Blue and Gold won the rebounding battle 25-18 and had three players score in double figures. Grayson Presnell had 18 points, Avery Cook 13 and Chad Lasher 10. Harrison Langdon led the Huskies with 11.
The Cougars did not shoot a free throw, Ashe went 4 of 7.
ACHS is now 13-6 and 4-2. Ashe County is 7-12 and 1-5.
