Alexander Central’s Lady Cougars emphatically ended a two-game losing streak Thursday night at South Caldwell.
AC never trailed and led 17-1 after the first quarter and 29-5 at the half.
The Lady Cougars cleaned the glass, outrebounding South 43-18.
Sydney Hayes led the scoring parade with 11. Kirstyn Herman added 9 and pulled down 12 rebounds.
The win puts Alexander Central at 13-2 overall and 1-2 in Northwestern Conference play. South Caldwell falls to 9-8 and 0-3.

South Caldwell survived a tough battle between the two rivals.
The Spartans went 10 of 22 from behind the three-point line compared to the Cougars 3 of 14. AC ruled the points in the paint 22-10. Connor Setzer led South with 12 points, all of his points coming on 4 of 9 in three-pointers.
Grayson Presnell led AC with 17 and Avery Cook had 12.
Alexander Central falls to 10-5 and 2-1 in league play. South Caldwell is 8-9 and 1-2.
