The Lady Cougars saw their season end at #1 ranked Northern Guilford Saturday night. It didn’t end without putting a scare into the Nighhawks who’ve rolled through the season beating teams by an average of 27 points per game.
Alexander Central led 24-21 at the half and the game was knotted at 34 after three periods. Then the undefeated hosts took over. They outpaced the Lady Cougars 21-6 in the 4th quarter.
Juliaanna Walter led AC with 16 points and Kirstyn Herman added 12. Alexander Central finishes the season reaching the third round of the State Playoffs and a record of 23-5. Northern Guilford is now 28-0 and will face Charlotte Chambers in Round IV.
