The Cougars may have found their mojo again !
After being thumped on three straight Fridays and some time to shake it off during the bye week, Alexander Central got back to what they do, pound it !
In the conference opener in West Jefferson, the Blue and Gold ran for 405 yards and beat Ashe County 28-21.

Coach Butch Carter said after the game, “I’m so happy for the kids, we should have put this thing away but didn’t because of the fumbles and flags, we tried to give one away. We needed this, now let’s clean things up.”

The penalties kept the Cougars from pulling away as they had a pair of touchdowns taken off the board.
Alexander Central out-gained the Huskies 498-278.

Robert Young led the Cougars with 6 tackles
