Alexander Central Sweeps Varsity Basketball Games Against Davie County

Alexander Central’s women’s basketball team dominated Davie County in a game played in Taylorsvile Tuesday night. The Lady Cougars led 18-6 after the 1st quarter and 32-11 at the half. They left no doubt in the third quarter outscoring the visitors 21-1. Chesney Stikelether led AC with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Alexander Central improves to 2-0 on the season.

The Cougars roared back from a deficit of 12 late in the 2nd quarter to get the win over the War Eagles. The Blue and Gold outscored Davie 16-6i n the 3rd period. The Cougars were in double figures led by Evan Presnell with 15. Grove Lowrance added 14 and Grayson Presnell chipped in with 10. Lowrance had 10 rebounds in the contest. The Cougars are 1-1.
