The Lady Cougars opened their season with a Tuesday win on the road.
Faith Carrigan (11 K’s) and Kara Hinkle combined on a two-hit shutout while Alexander Central pounded out 14 base hits.
Carrigan went 3-3 with 3 runs-batted-in and Peyton Price went 3-3 as well. AC plated three runs in the 3rd and dominated added adding a run in the 4th, 3 in the 5th and 2 more in the 6th. Maiden committed a pair of errors.
