Alexander Central stayed perfect on the season and exorcised a demon in the process.

The demon was South Caldwell who had beaten the Lady Cougars 7 straight times. That streak is over but it didn’t end without some nervous moments for the team from Taylorsville.

ACHS took a 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning but South scored a run in the 3rd and tied the game with a run in the top of the 6th .

In the home half of the 6th , shortstop Kenzie Church plated what would be the winning run with a single. AC would add two more and lead 5-2.

South Caldwell rallied with a pair of runs and had the bases loaded when Faith Carrigan put a end to the rally with a strike-out. Carrigan went the distance allowing 6 hits, 4 runs (3 earned) and 8 strike-outs.

Carrigan had two hits, Abby Teague went 2-3 with 2 rbi.

The Lady Cougars are 12-0 and 3-0 in Northwestern Conference play.
