Alexander Central Softball Conquers Cox Mill

The top seeded Lady Cougars rolled over a badly over-matched foe in Round I of the State Playoffs on Tuesday in Taylorsville.

ACHS built a 16-0 lead over Cox Mill after 4 innings and the game was called after 5. Faith Carrigan pitched 4 innings of no-hit ball allowing only a walk while fanning 8 batters.

Carrigan homered . Kirstyn Herman homered twice and went 3-4 with 5 runs batted in. Chesney Stikeleather drove in 3 runs, going 2-4. Peyton Price went 3-4 and scored 3 times.

Alexander Central improves to 23-2 and will advance to Round II. They will host Weddington who defeated Myers Park 7-6. The game is set for Thursday at Central Park.
