Alexander Central Softball Beats McDowell

The Lady Cougars romped over their former conference rivals Thursday evening in Taylorsville.
Faith Carrigan got the win allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 3 hits. She struck out 9 and issued one walk. Carrigan went 3 of 4 at the plate with 3 runs batted in including a home run. Kenzie Church slugged a pair of round-trippers and drove in 3. Macy Law hit a pinch hit 2 run homer. Another homer was hit by ph Laney Wike. Abby Teague went 3-3 with 2 rbi.

Alexander Central was clinging to a 4-3 lead until they exploded for 9 runs in the 5th inning, ending the game with a 10 run lead.

ACHS is 19-2 and will conclude the regular season on Friday when they host Northwestern Conference foe Freedom. McDowell is now 11-8

Laney Wike pitched a 2 hit shutout. She struck out 6. Wike also drove in 3 runs as did Macy Law.
