Alexander Central Outlasts South Caldwell In Double-Overtime

Alexander Central held off South Caldwell in a double-overtime thriller Friday evening in Taylorsville. The game featured 16 lead changes and was tied 12 times.

Sydney Hayes, Nikki Hagy, and Gracie Harrington led the Cougar scoring 11 points each. Hallie Jarret added 10. The Lady Cougars dominated the glass, out rebounding the Lady Spartans 60-38. Hagy had 14 boards, Hayes 12, Jarrett 11, and Chesney Stikeleather added 10.

Alexander Central improves to 10-3 overall and 7-3 in Northwestern Conference play. South Caldwell falls to 6-6 and 5-6. AC will conclude the regular season today when they travel to Hickory for a game that will tip-off at 11am.
