Maiden 55 Alexander Central 42
A cold shooting night and a talented foe meant the end of an 11 game winning streak for Alexander Central and awarded Maiden with the school’s first holiday tournament championship. The Lady Blue Devils never trailed and pulled away in the second half after leading 26-20 at the half. Willow Bass led Maiden with 20 points and Ava Anderson added 12. Tournament MVP Khiara Culliver was held to 6 points but she had a dozen rebounds as Maiden improves to 10-1. Meredith Wike was tops for AC with 22. The Lady Cougars are 11-1.

Hickory 76 Alexander Central 55
The Red Tornadoes romped their way to their 8th straight holiday tournament championship Tuesday night. Hickory left no doubt and led 25-10 after the opening period. AC never recovered, Hickory had 4 players scoring in double-figures led by Landon Forrest with 18. Jace Blocker had 11 and Javian White and Hayden Hillman both had 11. Hickory (7-2) out-rebounded the Cougars 46-32. Kade Flowers was the lone ACHS player to reach double figures with 10 points. Alexander Cenetral drops to 7-4.
