Alexander Central Drops Close One To Providence

The Cougars traveled to Charlotte Wednesday evening and fell to the State’s top ranked team Providence.

Alexander Central led 2-0 after 3 innings but the Panthers tied it in the 4th and crossed the plate in the 5th in what turned out to be the winning run.

Jaret Hoppes had an rbi for the Cougars as did Mason Chapman Mays. JD Litle and Caleb Williams allowed only 4 hits combined but Williams took the loss pitching the final two innings.

The Cougars drop to 18-4.
Providence stays perfect at 23-0. They are ranked #1 in the state and #5 in the nation by Maxpreps. The Panthers are coached by Taylorsville native and Alexander Central alum Daniel Hignight
