After running the non-conference portion of their season at 12-0, Alexander Central has lost two straight.
Watauga led 16-6 after the opening period and cruised in the game played in Taylorsville. Kate Sears led the Lady Pioneers with 18 points including 10 of 13 from the free-throw line. Kirstyn Herman had 10 pts and 10 rebounds for ACHS.
Alexander Central falls to 0-2 in league play and 12-2 overall. Watauga is 12-4 and 2-0

The Cougars jumped on top early and never trailed after the opening minutes of the game. AC led 37-20 at the half.
Four Cougars scored in double figures led by Avery Cook with 23 including 3 for 3 from the behind the three-point line. Carter Fortner had 11 and Chad Lasher and Grayson Presnell contributed 10 points each. Wyatt Keller had 17 for the visiting Pioneers.
ACHS is 10-4 and 2-0 in Northwestern Conference play. Watauga slides to 7-8 and 1-1.
