Alexander Central survived to beat AC Reynolds on Tuesday at Bob Gryder Stadium. The game was marred with 5 errors.
The Cougars were up 15-2 after they plated 12 runs in the second inning. The visiting Rockets would chase starter Maddox Jack in the third inning with 5 runs. Jack would allow 7 runs of which only 2 were earned.
Mason Chapman Mays led the AC offense going 2 of 5 and driving in 4 runs including a homer. Maddox Jack and Caleb Williams also hit round-trippers.
Alexander Central is 21-6 and will host Charlotte Providence in Round II. Providence beat Porter Ridge 3-0.
