The Cougars led 4-0 after the 1st inning and held off a late rally to defeat the War Eagles Saturday afternoon in Mocksville.
Maddox Jack got the win on the mound pitching the first 5 innings allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits.
The Cougars took advantage of 4 Davie errors that led to 4 unearned runs. Caleb Williams, Maddox Jack, and Gage Weaver each had 2 hits for ACHS. Konor Davis led the Cougars with 3 runs batted in.
Alexander Central improves to 7-0 with the Northwestern Conference opener scheduled for Tuesday at Ashe County. Davie County drops to 3-5.
