Morganton- Around 10:55 a.m., NC Highway Patrol Troopers in Burke County, were dispatched to a plane crash at Foothills Regional Airport, in Morganton.
A single engine airplane off the runway.
Early indications are the aircraft was attempting to take off and lost directional control and ended up to the right of the runway, in a ditch. It does not appear as if the plane was airborne at the time of the crash.
One pilot was transported to the UNC Health Blue Ridge in Morganton with minor injuries.
One Pilot in training, was not injured.
FAA will be handling the investigation.
