The Alexander County Health Department has confirmed the 8th death associated with the COVID-19 virus.
As of Friday at 5 pm, 77 people are in quarantine with COVID-19, with a cumulative total of 543 confirmed cases.
The number of hospitalizations is inconclusive, due to a lack of updates from hospitals, which also makes it difficult to determine the number of people who have recovered according to a press release from the Health Department.
