Alexander Early College (AEC) is excited to announce that in addition to the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees. AEC will be offering the Associate of Arts in Teacher Preparation and the Associate of Science in Teacher Preparation starting in Fall 2023. Additionally, students will be able to take the CNA 1 class as well as explore other curricular areas.
AEC juniors can also apply to the Appalachian Aspire program and the Wilmington Pathways to Excellence program. Students in these programs will have college-level academic advising, information on special events and financial aid assistance. Next fall, Western Carolina will start the Finish in Four program that will provide financial assistance to students to help to alleviate or to minimize student debt. Students with associate degrees could apply financial awards toward a master’s degree or another bachelor degree. AEC has so many opportunities for students who wish to continue their education at the university level.
Alexander Early College applications are open for rising 9th graders through February 28th. Online applications are available on the AEC website and paper applications are available at West and East middle schools and in the AEC office. For more information please call 828 632-8221.
