Alexander Central Men Fall In Heartbreaker, Lady Cougars Romp Over North Iredell

The Lady Cougars spotted North Iredell a 12-10 led after the first period but romped over the Lady Raiders in the second quarter 21-3 in Olin. ACHS outscored the home team 15 to 2 at the free-throw line although those 15 makes came in 32 attempts. Sydney Hayes led AC with 22 including 5 three-point baskets. Freshman Meredith Wike contributed 11 and Hallie Jarrett 10. The win improves Alexander Central to 4-0, North drops to 1-4.

Men’s Varsity

North Iredell 45

The Cougars let one get away on the road. ACHS was leading 36-28 after three quarters and had as much as an 11 point cushion in the final period to see North Iredell come storming back. Senior Avery Cook led the Cougar scoring with 15 and Chad Lasher added 10. AC drops to 2-2, North led by Beckham Tharpe’s 15 points and 12 rebounds go to 4-1.
