Alexander County Man Held Under Large Bond On Child Porn Charges

A Taylorsville man has been charged in connection with possession of and distribution of child pornography.

56-year old Charles Henson Gates was arrested on Thursday, May 5th by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office and charged with multiple counts of felony first and second-degree exploitation of a minor. He was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $1 million.

On Friday, May 6th, additional charges were filed and the bond for Gates was increased to $2.5 million. He remains in custody with a first court appearance scheduled for today in Alexander County District Court.
