67 New Cases Of COVID-19 On Monday In Alexander County

Alexander County’s COVID-19 cases are climbing at one of the highest percentage rates in the state of North Carolina

67 new cases were counted on Monday

As of 12 noon on Monday, August 16

4,868 cases since beginning of pandemic

141 cases in last 7 days

268 cases in last 14 days

88 people have died of COVID associated symptoms

7 county citizens are hospitalized

The county’s vaccination rate remains substantially below the state and national averages

38 percent of Alexander County citizens have had 1 dose

35 percent are fully vaccinated

At this time the Alexander County Health Department is scheduling appointments for the Pfizer vaccine for persons age 12 and older and the Moderna vaccine for persons age 18 and older.
