A man and a woman are facing felony drug charges after a traffic stop in Alexander County.
On the evening of Thursday April 28th, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on Highway 127 in Behtlehem. Larry Allen Moretz, age 30 of Taylorsville, was charged with felony possession of schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor child abuse. He was also served a failure to appear warrant after missing a court date. He was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $37,500. Moretz is scheduled to make an initial court appearance today in Alexander County District Court. 28-year old Harlee Kae Korte of Hiddenite was charged with felony possession of schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor child abuse. Korte was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $30,000. She has a court appearance scheduled for today in Taylorsville.The child abuse charges filed against both suspects are the result of a child passenger in the vehicle.
