On Friday, June 4, 2021, Investigators with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office and State Agents executed a search warrant at an automotive repair business on Bert Drive in Catawba. During that search Investigators reportedly found and seized 55 grams of meth, eight grams of marijuana, five grams of marijuana wax, a shotgun with an illegally shortened barrel, a stolen firearm, two stolen vehicles and two stolen trailers.
Darren Dwayne Hollar, the operator of the business, was arrested and charged. Additional charges against Hollar are pending. Two other individuals were at the business and were charged with weapon and drug offenses. Hollar was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $250,000 secured bond. A District Court appearance is scheduled for July 8.
